Waiting List

Effective September 15, 2008 the PHA is accepting requests for applications for its Public Housing Program for all bedroom sizes. The waiting list will remain open until further notice.

To Receive an Application

Please select ONE of the following options:

• Call 651-298-4444 to leave your name and full address. An application will be mailed to you; or

• Fax your name and full address to 651-292-6527. An application will be mailed to you; or

• E-mail your name and full address to: PHApplications@stpha.org. An application will be mailed to you; or

• Come to the PHA Rental Office, 555 North Wabasha Street, Suite #300, St. Paul. MN 55102, to pick up an application; or

• Click here to download the application form.

• Hearing impaired applicants may call Minnesota Relay at 711.

When You Receive Your Application

1. Answer all questions on the application and attached forms.

2. Answer all questions completely and accurately.

3. Have all household members age 18 and older sign and date the application.

4. Mail or bring the forms to:

5. Incomplete or unsigned forms cannot be placed on the waiting list.

While You Wait

1. Your name will be entered onto the public housing waiting list.

2. You will receive a letter telling you approximately how long you must wait for an eligibility interview.* Waiting time is determined by: the date and time of the application; the bedroom size required for the household; and eligibility for local admission preferences. The PHA does not have any emergency housing.

3. You must report any changes of address and/or household size or status in writing.

4. You can check your status on the waiting list after you have received the letter informing you of waiting list placement. To do this you must call: 651-298-5158, select the public housing option and follow the phone tree instructions.

5. The PHA will contact you annually regarding your continued interest in the public housing program. You must respond to this notice or your name will be removed from the waiting list.

*All applicants for the Public Housing Program must complete a thorough screening process that includes criminal and housing history background checks.
